Great place for lunch and mimosas! The service was friendly and they helped us very quickly. Pistachio waffle - If you like the light flavors of pistachio and a fluffy waffle, this is a great choice. You can also add fruits to it to make it a combo Mimosa - I recommend the That's So Pretty because they delivered their promise. With fruits, flowers and glitter, it was so pretty to look at. And very fruity too

Tepidly warm take - brunch is the best meal of the day. Not only does it combine two distinctly different types of food, but it's typically limited to just weekends, which makes it that much more special. So, while it was entirely unsurprising to see so many options in Sacramento, it definitely made it harder to figure out what place to try next! That is, until after seeing all of the positive reviews for The Morning Fork on Yelp. Between all of the great photos we saw and it was on our way to the farmer's market in Midtown, it seemed like the place to try next (and go back to again!). From the outside, The Morning Fork looks quite unassuming (it almost looks like a record store). Inside, the decor of this place feels a bit like a greasy spoon diner, but with a very Sacramento type of vibe (not really sure how to describe, but it makes sense in my head). However, while the menu is filled with typical staples like pancakes, waffles, benedicts, and omelets, some of their offerings have rather interesting takes, like their vegan Pandan Waffles with Ube Coconut Icing and Lemon Raspberry Stuffed French Toast. In short, there's likely something for every taste, regardless of whether you're looking for something classic or unique, savory or sweet! -- SAGE FRIED CHICKEN & WAFFLE - Boneless Dark and Light Meat with Salted Maple Butter...$19 Quite simply, this was AMAZING! The fried chicken was perfect - the batter was crunchy and both pieces were really juicy. As for the waffle, the outside was crisp, the inside wasn't very heavy/dense, and the syrup was delicious! -- PANDAN VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE - Pandan Waffle, Ube Coconut Frosting, Pumpkin Seeds, and Praline Dust...$16 Admittedly, this isn't the type of dish that jumps off the page at me, but this was great! These waffles were just as good and had a really nice pandan flavor to it, which was complemented well by the ube coconut frosting. Yum! -- CANADIAN BACON EGGS BENEDICT - Medium Poached Cage Free Eggs, Chives, and House Hollandaise on Grilled English Muffin...$16 Pretty standard, but not necessarily in a bad way. The Canadian bacon was surprisingly thick and not all that salty, the eggs were very runny, and the muffin didn't get all that soggy. I didn't love the hollandaise sauce, but it was fine after scraping some of it to the side. -- LEMON RASPBERRY STUFFED FRENCH TOAST - French Toast Stuffed with Lemon Curd, Topped with Raspberry Sauce, Lemon Icing, and Sweetened Cream Cheese...$16 As fantastic as this sounded on the menu, the dish itself was just okay. The raspberry sauce was quite tasty, as was the cream cheese, but between the lemon curd and lemon icing, it was a little too lemony and sweet. Across both of our visits, service here was solid. Not only were our servers friendly and welcoming, but they came by often to check on us too. Also, even though there was a moderate size crowd in line when we arrived, the wait for a table isn't all that bad, especially if you're fine with sitting at the counter (it's mostly groups waiting for a table). Even though, I can't say I left The Morning Fork feeling as impressed overall as I did after trying some of the other brunch spots in Sacramento, there wasn't anything we were terribly unhappy with either. Plus, the Sage Fried Chicken and Waffle is probably one of the best I've had anywhere! If I could find one that tasted just as good in SF, there's a better than 50/50 chance you'd find me there this weekend!

This is a busy spot but I like their nontraditional way of "reserving" your spot. They have a notebook outside your write your name on with the # in your party and then they call you when it's your turn. We stopped by this spot after the farmers market, so it was fairly busy but we didn't wait longer than maybe 10 minutes. I would say you should voice where you'd like to sit otherwise you might end up in the side room like we did. The side room may be your preference if you don't want to be on the busy main area though! The food here is a twist on a classic American breakfast. It seems they have a changing menu with a few regulars. Everyone was ordering the chicken & waffles. We got the breakfast burrito and waffle with a side of eggs and sausage. The burrito was good and the chimichurri it came with was super yummy. The waffle was crispy outside but super soft with a nice sweet milky flavor. Sausage was super delicious too. The pear soju cocktail I got was seasonal, it was yummy but too sweet for me. Overall, cool spot with a busy vibe. I'd love to sit at the counter next time to get the full "diner" experience!

If you're going to be in the uptown area of Sacramento and want a good local non-chain breakfast spot, this may be it. Getting here before the crowd (before 9:30am) truly made the difference. We waited only about 15 mins. Food was worth the wait. 4/5: Maple Sage Fried Chicken 5/5: Chicken Mango Jalapeno Sausage (a must) 3/5: Seafood omelette 5/5: Ghirardelli Hot Cherry chocolate (with oat milk) - so good!! Servers were prompt and efficient. Parking: We found street metered parking not far away. Bonus: During certain times, they have a huge flea market across the street!

Solid breakfast/brunch spot. Parking is butt on Saturdays, as expected. Be alright with parking a block or two away. Greeted when I entered, sat pretty quickly, pretty packed also. Quick service, attentive servers, surprisingly good music bumping in the background (not too loud, but enough so you can jam at the table). Food Stuffs Pancake: 4.6/5 - flat, large, single pancake. Would hold on the powdered sugar. Tastes pretty good with just the butter honestly. Ended up eating it like a piece of injera (if you know, you know) Corned beef hash: 4.8/5 - corned beef forward, so, yes, get it. Asked for mustard and hot sauce. Pretty tasty. Should've told them no toast. Cherry cream soda: 4.2/5 - meh. Sweet, good, if you are into that. It was refreshing. An orange flavoring would've been dope. Bacon Waffle: 4.8/5 - Friends like it and swear by it. So, ya know, try it As always, eggs were eggs, hashbrown was crisp and coffee was coffee. Although the caffeinated was better than the decaf (taste wise). Yes, I will be back. Want to try the biscuits and gravy. Also, price wise: "it be like that"

Out of town review: Parking is not an easy task, but it's worth the struggle! Located in the midtown area, it's what I would call a hole in the wall and the vibes and food definitely fit the experience: let's get into the food! Sage fried chicken: 5/5 -if you want an "herbal" taste to your fried chicken, it makes for a surprising wow effect to combine flavors. Upgrade your hash browns with cheese and bacon, that give you a texture of crispy and heavy, with a light combination of eggs over medium with a runny yolk that combine delicious with a creamy sausage gravy. You get a neutral taste of different flavors and textures that balance themselves out. The meal was very well done, the mvp was the smoked flavor sourdough.... I don't know what it was... but the sourdough had a smoky flavor that was the perfect combining factor of the meal. Bonus review: mango jalapeño chicken sausage 5/5 -made in house... absolutely delicious!!! Sweet, savory, salty, spicy, it paired well with my fiancée's meal. She gave me a try and I'll say that they balance out the sausage quite well and it was a good treat. The restaurant was celebrating a coworkers daughter's birthday, and it was amazing to see everyone coming together to celebrate the little lady. For that, I have to give our experience an amazing review as it gave us that "feel good" feeling of seeing them welcome this baby, and other locals who are regulars to the establishment. Definitely loved the vibes!

Saturday brunch, place my name down, about a 15 minute wait around 10:30AM which was really fast. You do have to wait nearby for your name to get called. Ordered a chicken and waffle ($19) and a veggie omelet with hash browns ($18). A diner style, with artwork around the walls for sale. The waffle is really delicious, enough salty and sweetness, honestly can eat it without the maple syrup. Veggie omelet is a decent portion with some crisp hash browns. The staff also checked in with us a few times to make sure everything was good. Overall, great place to get some brunch

Came here towards their closing time on Sunday afternoon and we were seated pretty quickly (under 10 minutes) after we put down our names on the waitlist outside. They close at 2pm and we arrived around 1pm. There were still plenty of customers and parties waiting to be seated, they are busy. The staff all seemed like they were in a rush given it was their last hour so don't be like us and check their hours. It's my second time here and I have noticed that service here fluctuates, sometimes it's good and sometimes it is bad. I guess it depends on who you are helped by. The food however was amazing! They were out of French toast so the waitress was accommodating and let me know I could turn any flavor/syrup combo in the menu into a pancake or waffle. I got the lemon curd and raspberry waffle which was AMAZING! Highly recommend. I also got a side of biscuit with sausage gravy that was topped with bacon bits-- I loved the gravy and would absolutely get this again. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak that came with hashbrowns, slice of toast and gravy. It was delicious and very filling. Our server did forget our drink order but she was very kind about it. I think their food and prices are reasonable. The parking can be annoying as it is in this area, pay $1-$3 if you can find street parking or walk a few blocks if you want free parking. Overall, I would recommend The Morning Fork for brunch, try to come on a weekday or earlier on a weekend to reserve a table but expect a wait!
